Your instant air conditioning price in 3 steps
An instant air conditioning price from Aircova is an indicative fixed figure for fitted air conditioning, VAT included. You pick the number of rooms, their size, the system type and a brand level. The tool shows the price from our published list, and you send it to us on WhatsApp.
Your indicative fixed price
from £2,195
Fitted, VAT included
- 1 wall-mounted unit, 2.5kW
Add photos in the chat. A photo of each room and one of the outside wall where the outdoor unit could go lets us check the pipe run before we confirm.
Indicative price from our published list. The premium uplift is an estimate. We confirm the final figure in writing.
How pricing works
How our fixed prices are worked out
Every figure in our 3-step price calculator comes from one published list. We do not change it by postcode or by season, so your neighbour sees the same number.
Each price covers the indoor and outdoor units, up to 3 metres of refrigerant pipe per indoor unit, the wall bracket, the electrical connection, commissioning and VAT.
One room
A single room gets a wall-mounted air conditioning unit sized to the room. A 2.5kW unit suits most bedrooms up to about 20m², and a sunny lounge usually needs 3.5kW.
Two to five rooms
For several rooms we price a multi-split, where up to five indoor units share one outdoor unit. The list price assumes bedroom sized rooms. The calculator adds £200 for a medium room, £500 for a large one and £800 for a very large one, the same steps as our single unit prices. Read how multi-split systems handle different rooms.
A ducted system hides the unit in the loft or ceiling and costs more, because of the ductwork.
Not sure of the room size? Pick the closest option and we check it from your photos. Our BTU calculator gives a kW figure from your measurements, and 1kW is about 3,412 BTU per hour.
| System | Rooms | From price | Time on site |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wall-mounted 2.5kW | 1 | £2,195 | 1 day |
| Wall-mounted 3.5kW | 1 | £2,395 | 1 day |
| Wall-mounted 5.0kW | 1 | £2,695 | 1 day |
| Wall-mounted 7.0kW | 1 | £2,995 | 1 day |
| Multi-split | 2 | £3,995 | 2 to 3 days |
| Multi-split | 3 | £5,495 | 2 to 3 days |
| Multi-split | 4 | £6,995 | Confirmed at survey |
| Multi-split | 5 | £8,495 | Confirmed at survey |
| Ducted | 2 to 3 | £6,995 | 3 to 5 days |
| Ducted whole floor | 4 or more | £8,000 to £12,000 after survey | 3 to 5 days |
For context, one room fitted usually costs £1,500 to £3,200 in the UK, with London at the top end.

What happens after you ask for a quote?
Your air conditioning installation quote moves from an on screen figure to a fixed price in writing. Most homes need one short chat and a few photos.
- Send your price. Tap the WhatsApp button and your rooms, sizes, system and postcode arrive in one message.
- Add photos. Send pictures of each room and the outside wall, so we can plan the pipe run.
- We check the details. An engineer reviews your photos and replies within one working day with any questions.
- Free survey if needed. Multi-room, ducted and tricky access jobs get a visit to measure routes and check the fuse board.
- Fixed price in writing. You get the models, kW sizes, extras and total, all including VAT.
- Install and handover. F gas certified engineers fit, commission and show you the controls.
Send photos of your rooms on WhatsApp
Good photos save a visit on many single room jobs.
- Each room, taken from the doorway, showing the wall you prefer for the indoor unit
- The outside wall, garden or balcony where the outdoor unit could sit
- The route between them
- Your fuse board with the cover closed
- Any loft hatch or ceiling void, if you picked ducted
Final price
What can change the final installation price?
Most quotes stay at the list price. We name any extra in writing before work starts.
Longer pipe runs
The list price includes up to 3 metres of pipe per indoor unit, which covers most back to back installs. Longer runs are priced at the survey.
Access at height
An outdoor unit on a second floor wall may need a tower or scaffolding. Ground level and balcony spots do not.
Electrics and walls
Some older fuse boards need a consumer unit upgrade for the new circuit. Chasing pipes into an internal wall is also priced separately.
Consent and planning
Most small units on houses need no planning permission. The government note on air conditioning rules explains the limits. Listed buildings and conservation areas often need consent. Our planning permission guide covers the common cases, and air conditioning for flats explains freeholder consent.
For a full breakdown of what drives the numbers, including running costs and market ranges, read our air conditioning cost guide.

Why fixed prices
Why we quote fixed prices, not estimates
An estimate can grow on the day. A fixed price cannot, unless something hidden turns up, and then we agree it with you first. That is how we run every air conditioning installation we take on.
A fixed air conditioning installation quote is also easy to compare. Check that any rival price names the brand, kW size, pipe length and VAT. Ask for the F gas certificate too, as the GOV.UK F gas guidance requires it for anyone handling refrigerant.
We fit Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, Toshiba and Panasonic. Premium choices include the Daikin Perfera and Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-LN ranges, with indoor quiet modes from about 19dB. Manufacturer warranty cover runs up to 5 years.
Every split system is also an air-to-air heat pump, giving about 3 to 4 kW of heat per kW of electricity. If you want heating too, say so in your message and we confirm grant eligibility at the survey.
FAQs
Questions about getting a quote
Is the price from the calculator my final price?
It is an indicative price taken from our fixed price list, and most single room jobs stay at that figure. We confirm the final price in writing after we see your photos or visit. It only changes if you need extras such as a pipe run over 3 metres, scaffolding, a consumer unit upgrade or wall chasing.
Does an air conditioning quote cost anything?
No, an air conditioning quote from us is free, and so is the home survey. You can use the calculator, send photos on WhatsApp and get a written price without paying or committing to anything. We only take a booking once you have the fixed price in writing and you are happy with it.
Do I need a home survey before I get a fixed price?
Not always. Many single room jobs can be priced from clear photos of the room, the outside wall and the fuse board. Multi-room systems, ducted systems and homes where the outdoor unit needs access at height usually get a free survey first. The surveyor measures pipe routes and checks the electrics, so the written price holds on the day.
What photos should I send on WhatsApp?
Send a photo of each room from the doorway, showing the wall you prefer for the indoor unit. Add the outside wall, garden or balcony where the outdoor unit could go, and the route between them. A photo of your fuse board helps too. For a ducted system, include the loft hatch or ceiling void.
Why do air conditioning quotes vary so much between installers?
Quotes differ because they include different things. One room fitted usually costs £1,500 to £3,200 in the UK, with London at the top end. A low figure may leave out the pipe run, the electrical connection, commissioning or VAT, so compare what is included, not only the total.
How many quotes should I get?
Two or three written quotes is usually enough to judge a fair price. Make sure each one names the same unit size and brand, so you compare like for like. Check that the installer holds F gas certification and pressure tests the system before handover.
Can I get one quote for cooling and heating?
Yes, because every split system we fit both cools and heats. It works as an air-to-air heat pump in winter, giving about 3 to 4 kW of heat per kW of electricity. If heating matters to you, mention it in your message. Grant rules are changing, so we confirm eligibility at the survey rather than on the calculator.
Can I get a quote for a flat?
Yes. Pick your rooms in the calculator as normal and add a photo of any balcony or outside wall you can use. Most flats need written consent from the freeholder or managing agent before an outdoor unit goes on the building. We can supply the unit details and noise figures they usually ask for.
