The service
What Fujitsu air conditioning installation includes
Fujitsu air conditioning installation means supplying, fitting and commissioning a Fujitsu split system in your home. Aircova fits single wall units from £2,195 and two room multi-splits from £3,995, with VAT. Every unit runs on R32, cools in summer and heats in winter.
Fujitsu sits in our standard price tier. You get efficient inverter units at about £200 less per indoor unit than the premium brands we fit. For many homes, that is the sensible middle ground between a budget unit and a top end model.
The fixed price covers the indoor unit, the outdoor unit, up to 3 metres of pipework, the wall bracket, the electrical connection and commissioning. Longer pipe runs, scaffolding or tower access, wall chasing and consumer unit upgrades are priced at the survey, in writing.
How a Fujitsu split works
A slim indoor unit sits high on the wall. Insulated copper pipes carry refrigerant to the outdoor unit, which holds the compressor. The pipes, a power cable and the condensate drain pass through one small hole in the wall.
Because the compressor is outside, the room stays quiet. The inverter speeds the compressor up and down to hold your set temperature, rather than switching hard on and off. If you are new to split systems, our wall-mounted air conditioning page explains the layout in more detail.
A note on the Fujitsu name
In January 2026 Fujitsu General changed its company name to GENERAL Inc., and the UK business became GENERAL HVAC Solutions UK. New units are moving to the GENERAL badge over time, while the AIRSTAGE product name stays. Support for Fujitsu units already in homes carries on as before.
Wall-mounted ranges
The Fujitsu model range for UK homes
Fujitsu sells three families of wall-mounted units in the UK: Designer, Standard and ECO. All use R32 refrigerant. The figures below are for the 2.5kW model in each series, taken from the manufacturer’s UK specification pages.
| Series | Best for | Efficiency | Quiet mode |
|---|---|---|---|
| Designer KJ | Bedrooms and living rooms where looks and running cost matter | SEER 9.20, SCOP 5.10, A+++ | 19dB |
| Designer KE | Wider walls where you want a curved, softer front panel | SEER 7.40, SCOP 4.10 | 20dB |
| Standard KM | Most bedrooms, offices and lounges | SEER 8.40, SCOP 4.60, A++ | 20dB |
| ECO KN | Narrow walls and small rooms on a tighter budget | SEER 7.40, SCOP 4.40 | 20dB |
You can read every model sheet on the official Fujitsu UK wall-mounted range, now shown under the GENERAL name. We price whichever series you prefer.
Designer and Standard features
The Designer KJ is the most efficient Fujitsu wall unit we fit. Its Heat Clean function warms the coil above 55°C to stop mould. An occupancy sensor also turns output down when the room is empty.
- Heating range
- Designer KJ heats down to minus 20°C outside. Standard KM and ECO KN work down to minus 15°C.
- Outdoor sound
- 44dB on the 2.5kW Designer KJ and ECO KN, 46dB on the Standard KM.
- Larger rooms
- Standard and ECO also come in bigger sizes for open plan spaces.
App control and labels
Fujitsu units connect to the AIRSTAGE Mobile app once a WLAN adapter is fitted. You can then switch rooms on, change modes and set timers from your phone. We quote the adapter separately if you want it.
- SEER
- Cooling efficiency. Higher means lower summer bills.
- SCOP
- Heating efficiency. A SCOP of 4.6 means about 4.6 kW of heat for each kW of electricity, averaged over a season.
- Model code
- The number shows the size. An 09 model is the 2.5kW unit, about 8,500 BTU/h.

Is it right for you?
Who Fujitsu suits best
Fujitsu suits homeowners who want strong efficiency figures without paying the premium tier price. On a 2.5kW room, you save about £200 compared with our Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric prices.
It is a good fit for home offices, guest rooms and children’s bedrooms, where you want quiet, reliable cooling at a fair price. Small terraces and flats with narrow walls often suit the compact ECO KN, at 784mm wide.
Every unit also works as an air-to-air heat pump in winter. That makes it far cheaper to run than plug-in or panel heaters in the rooms it serves.
If silence at night matters most, compare figures in our guide to the quietest air conditioning units before you choose a series.
A fair comparison
Fujitsu vs Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric
All three brands make reliable R32 inverter units, and we fit all three. The main differences are price, finish and the range of indoor styles. Here is how the 2.5kW options compare at Aircova.
| Brand | Fitted from | Quietest quoted | Known for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fujitsu | £2,195 | 19dB (Designer KJ) | High efficiency at a lower price |
| Daikin | £2,395 | 19dB (Perfera) | Wide range and strong heating |
| Mitsubishi Electric | £2,395 | 19dB (MSZ-LN) | Premium build and finishes |
On paper the quiet mode figures are close, so the choice often comes down to budget and looks. If you want a particular design or a brand you already own, the premium tier may suit you better.
See our Daikin air conditioning installation page for the Perfera and Emura, or our Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning page for the MSZ-LN and MSZ-AY. We are happy to quote two brands side by side.
Two to five rooms
Fujitsu multi-split for two to five rooms
A Fujitsu multi-split runs two to five indoor units from one outdoor unit. Each room has its own remote, so one person can cool a bedroom while another heats the study.
The UK R32 multi-split outdoor units start at 4.0kW for two rooms and reach 10.0kW for five rooms. One outdoor unit means one wall bracket and one set of noise checks, which helps on a tight London terrace.
Planning a multi-split
We size each indoor unit for its own room, then match an outdoor unit that can serve them all. Pipe routes are planned room by room, often through a loft or along a ceiling line in neat trunking.
Our multi-split air conditioning page covers layouts and timings in more depth. A two room system usually takes two to three days to fit. Bedrooms often get the quietest series, as our bedroom air conditioning page explains.
- Two rooms from £3,995 with VAT
- Three rooms from £5,495 with VAT
- Each indoor unit has its own control
Fitting and aftercare
Fitting day, warranty and servicing
A single Fujitsu wall unit usually takes one working day, often 5 to 7 hours. This is the order we follow.
- Agree positions. We confirm where both units go and lay dust sheets before any drilling.
- Fix and drill. The indoor plate goes on level, then we core drill one hole with dust extraction.
- Mount outside. The outdoor unit goes on a bracket or stand with anti-vibration feet.
- Pipe and test. We join the pipework, pressure test with nitrogen and pull a deep vacuum.
- Commission. We release the R32, check cooling and heating, and show you the controls.
Only qualified engineers may handle refrigerant. The GOV.UK F gas guidance requires an F gas qualification and company certification for this work.
Your Fujitsu warranty
We register the manufacturer warranty in your name after commissioning. Fujitsu’s standard cover on home units is up to 5 years. Longer terms are set by Fujitsu and may need an accredited installer, so we confirm exactly what applies at your survey.
A yearly air conditioning service keeps the coil, filters and drain clean, and many warranties expect one. If you already have an old unit, we can handle replacing your existing air conditioning with a Fujitsu model.
Fujitsu is one of several brands we fit as part of our wider air conditioning installation service across London, Surrey, Kent, Essex and Hertfordshire.
FAQs
Fujitsu air conditioning FAQs
How much does Fujitsu air conditioning cost to install?
A Fujitsu 2.5kW wall unit costs from £2,195 fitted at Aircova, and a 3.5kW unit from £2,395, both with VAT. A two room multi-split starts from £3,995. Prices include up to 3 metres of pipe per indoor unit, the bracket, the electrical connection and commissioning. Longer pipe runs or scaffolding are priced at the survey.
Is Fujitsu a good air conditioning brand?
Yes, Fujitsu is one of the five brands UK installers fit most. Its current wall units run on R32 and post strong efficiency figures, with the 2.5kW Designer KJ rated A+++ for cooling and heating. It costs less than the premium brands, which is why we place it in our standard price tier.
Is Fujitsu better than Daikin or Mitsubishi Electric?
Not better or worse, just priced differently. All three make reliable inverter units with quiet modes around 19dB on their top wall models. Fujitsu costs about £200 less per indoor unit with us. Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric offer more premium finishes and indoor styles. We can quote two brands side by side so you can compare.
How long is the Fujitsu warranty in the UK?
The length of the Fujitsu warranty depends on the model and how it is registered. Extended terms are set by Fujitsu and may need an accredited installer. We confirm what applies to your system at the survey. We register the warranty in your name after commissioning, and yearly servicing helps keep it valid.
Are Fujitsu air conditioners quiet?
Yes, the indoor units are quiet. The 2.5kW Designer KJ runs from 19dB in quiet mode when cooling, and the Standard KM and ECO KN from 20dB. Those figures are close to a whisper. The outdoor units measure about 44 to 46dB, and we place them away from bedroom windows where we can.
Can I control a Fujitsu unit from my phone?
Yes, once a WLAN adapter is fitted. The adapter links the unit to your home Wi-Fi. The AIRSTAGE Mobile app then lets you switch it on, change the mode and set timers from anywhere. We include the adapter in your quote if you ask for app control.
Does Fujitsu heat well in a UK winter?
Yes, Fujitsu wall units heat well in British winters. The Designer KJ keeps heating at outdoor temperatures down to minus 20°C, and the Standard KM down to minus 15°C. The 2.5kW Designer has a SCOP of 5.10, so it gives about five units of heat for each unit of electricity over a season.
Why does my new unit say GENERAL instead of Fujitsu?
Fujitsu General changed its company name to GENERAL Inc. in January 2026. New products are moving to the GENERAL badge over time, while the AIRSTAGE range name stays the same. The UK team, products and support continue as before, and existing Fujitsu units are still supported.
